Residing within the earth are the Gnomes, pure intellect, receiving the ideas of the cosmos. Repulsed by the earth and the logic of humans, they nevertheless remain to avoid the threat of becoming amphibians. In concert with gravity, their energy directs the seed and the ideal form of the plant upward, out of the earth, where it is received by Undines, who live in the realm where moisture meets the air, they swim about the emerging plant and encourage it to sprout, all the while avoiding becoming a fish. As the sprout grows upward, it leaves this realm and emerges into the air and light. Sylphs, who are energized by the flight of birds, live in the air and infuse the plant with light, creating the archetypal form of the plant. Salamanders, or fire spirits, follow the flights of insects, tracing them to the flower, and imbuing the forming seed with warmth. RADIATION/IDEAS Gnomes / extraterrestrial, convey minerals to roots Undines / dream state / chemists bind necessary chemicals through water Sylphs / love / music of spheres bird song / vibration Salamanders / Fill the airship of pollen with warmth / help plant decay and transmit its ideal form back to earth / Gnomes who hold it through winter.

Listening to the many recordings that Kevin and I made together has helped me to maintain a deep connection with him. Kevin's spirit is gentle, loving, generous, kind, inventive, healing, timeless, and filled with the music of the spheres. He is in the hearts of so many people around the world. With the help of many friends that love Kevin dearly, this album was created as a gift.

At the core of each of these tracks lies an improvisation. Creating music with Kevin was a mind opening experience. He was constantly listening, searching, and guiding with his magical drumming. He had a unique voice on many different instruments - marimba, vibes, guitar, bass, mouth harp. When playing ukulele and charango, Kevin possessed a flamenco-like rhythmic sense that was energetic and inspiring. But he could also soothe you with lyrical, soulful ruminations. For more detail about each piece, please click on each track.

Kevin supported Eastern Woodlands Rematriation, an organization that does vital work to maintain ancestral, indigenous connections to Mother Earth. Kevin looked for these connections every day.
